Landscape Structures Announced as Finalist for Tekne Award

Ninth annual Minnesota Tekne Awards recognize state’s top technology companies

Delano, Minn. (Sept. 23, 2008) — The Minnesota High Tech Association (MHTA), Enterprise Minnesota and Life Science Alley recently announced finalists for the ninth annual Tekne Awards. Landscape Structures is a finalist for the Green Award, which honors businesses that practice environmental awareness/responsibility and incorporate sustainability principles into their overall business model.

The finalists for the 2008 Tekne Awards ranges from well-known technology companies to those on the verge of success, due in part to technological innovation. Awards are separated into categories that recognize the best and brightest in innovation, development, commercialization and management of technology in Minnesota. The 2008 Tekne Awards will be presented on Thursday, Oct. 30, at the Minneapolis Convention Center.

“The Tekne awards have served as a sign of Minnesota’s technological prominence for nearly a decade, and the accomplishments of this year’s group of finalists continue that tradition,” said Kate Rubin, president of MHTA. “Both the quantity and quality of entries continue to grow and technology innovation, as represented by these finalists, is strong.”

Along with Landscape Structures, finalists for the Green Award in the category of small and growing company are Asset Recovery Corp. and Cortec Corporation, both located in St. Paul. Established company finalists include Great River Energy in Maple Grove, IBM Rochester in Rochester and Vision-Ease Lens in Ramsey.

The Minnesota High Tech Association (MHTA) accelerates the growth, sustainability and global competitiveness of Minnesota’s technology-based economy through public-policy advocacy, member collaboration and education, and community outreach.
